Why “Toward the Light”?
Some thoughts :Staying in either the light or the dark too long, we stagnate. Neither is a permanent resting place, rather together they stimulate movement and growth; never a final location.
The movement comes out of darkness. Not that the dark is opposite or negative. The dark is where things begin, where they rest before germinating and eventually moving toward the light.
Shimmers of insight into unknowing opens eyes and hearts.
Dark is about the unknown, what we don’t know or what we think we don’t know.
The dark lacks light. It is not something to run away from but to admit we sit in from time to time. The dark allows us to be still if we pay attention to its fabric.
Wherever you are, ignite the fuse of light within you. Notice how darkness can make you wise.
What is it that makes the dark? It can be when our eyes are shut, it can be when our hearts or minds are shut.
In celebration, struggle, joy, depression, transition, achievement there is light and dark.
The dark can be a frightening place. As we feel our way through the dark, there is an opening and through the opening comes light.
The dark never leaves. It is part of us. It can be a place of nurture, incubation, of potential growth.
The dark is not a solid rock of a thing. It is fluid and weaves it’s way through our lives.
We start in darkness and end in darkness.
We carry a light in us.
